My name is Amelia Smith and I am a medical interpreter, certified with CCHI (since 2021), and Louisiana court interpreter (since 2019). I strive to provide a standard of excellence that does justice to the ethical boundaries of our sensitive role as interpreters, so you can count on me for neutrality, confidentiality, and accurate renderings. I am comfortable in remote settings and happy to facilitate the use of technology for all involved during virtual interactions.

Along with clinical settings, I work in a variety of particularly sensitive areas including juvenile justice, special education, and early childhood development, as well as worker’s compensation matters, depositions, conferences, city and school council meetings, and Louisiana State Court proceedings.

Originally from Little Rock, I recently relocated to Hot Springs, Arkansas after interpreting in the New Orleans area for about a decade, working in nearly every Southeast Louisiana state court and combining my court and healthcare interpreting skills especially in areas of worker’s comp: client meetings, depositions, mediations, IMEs, vocational assessments, neurology and orthopedic clinical visits, surgeries, medical imaging, and more.
